The Ministry of Environment issued an official announcement of a three-month extension of the validity of an engineer’s inspection certificate, stating that: “By legislative regulation that the Ministry of Environment and Energy will immediately submit, a 3-month extension of the validity of the engineer’s inspection certificate is provided, up to 30/09/2021”.

The full text of the official announcement of the Ministry of Environment issued on the morning of Friday, July 2, is as follows:

“Three-month extension of the validity of the engineer’s inspection certificate”

By a legislative regulation that the Ministry of Environment and Energy will immediately submit, a 3-month extension of the validity of the engineer’s inspection certificate is provided, up to 30/09/2021.

The Deputy Minister responsible for Spatial Planning and Urban Environment, Nikos Tagaras, stated: “We are aware of the issues faced by property owners and we are taking timely action to ensure the smooth management of their real estate assets. Within the framework of Building Digital Identity system, with the 3-month extension of the validity period of the engineer’s inspection certificate, we are providing the necessary time frame so that any ongoing property transfer procedures – or other actions – that are in progress can be completed smoothly.”

The announcement confirms prior reports that the issue would be addressed through last-minute legislative action and official notice.
